Beginning in July 2019, Wes Magruder is a Missionary of the General Board of Global Ministries, United Methodist Church, serving as Lecturer in Theology at Seth Mokitimi Methodist Seminary in Pietermaritzburg, KwazuluNatal in South Africa.
Wes most recently served as Senior Pastor of Kessler Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas. He has previously served churches in north Texas and Great Britain. From 2004-2008, he served as Director of the Cameroon New Mission Initiative, General Board of Global Ministries.
He is married to Leah, and father of Rachel, Chloe, and Mallory. He loves U2, Bob Dylan, Radiohead, documentary film, and improv comedy.
Wes has a B.A. in Radio/Television/Film from California State University, Long Beach; a Master of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University; and a Doctor of Ministry from Brite Divinity School, Texas Christian University.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Refugee Services of Texas, and spends much of his time in the refugee resettlement field, as well as in interfaith efforts in Dallas.
